How to setup a Hardware wallet to Claim domains

* Note: This guide does not apply to .zil domains. These are not supported for Ledger users.

Sept 2021 update: Following Ethereum's upgrade with EIP-1559 Ledger devices need to be using the latest firmware (2.0.0 for Nano S).

Before you begin, please ensure that Contract Data is enabled (now called Blind Signing with Ledger Nano S firmware 2.0.0) within the Ethereum app on your Ledger device.

  1. Download and install the MetaMask extension for your desktop browser, then restart your browser.

  1. Upon opening the MetaMask extension for the first time (shown below), you will be asked to create a new wallet, or import an existing one.

  1. In MetaMask, click the Profile icon and click Connect Hardware Wallet.

  1. Click on Ledger, and then click Connect. For Trezor users, click on Trezor, and then Connect.

  1. Your Hardware Wallet will now be connected to MetaMask. You may now follow the Claim domains with MetaMask guide.

After claiming your domain to your Ledger device, you will be able to Manage your domain and make changes. This includes adding crypto addresses, linking website content (our website templates are NOT available for Ledger users), and more, using the MetaMask option to sign off on the changes.
