Are the Domains Associated with ICANN?

Modified on: Thu, 7 Apr, 2022 at 10:03 AM

We are focused on building domain systems that are not part of the ICANN system.

We think that the most important thing for our domains is to have customers and apps that use these systems.

That is what makes them successful, and it’s also what prevents other legitimate organizations from launching the same system.

Of course, we wouldn’t launch a domain name system that collides with a domain system on traditional DNS.

ICANN applications opened in 2022 and we have applied for our extensions to be recognized in the traditional naming space.

Ultimately however, we think that legitimate use and acceptance within apps is the most important thing. And getting support or approval from ICANN is not necessary for our domains to succeed.
