Pinata.cloud is a pinning service that allows users to host files on the IPFS network. For more information about IPFS, please see our explanatory guide. The following is a step-by-step guide about how to upload files to IPFS via Pinata.cloud.
Go to Pinata.cloud and sign-up / sign-in.
Ensure the Pin Manager tab is selected and click Upload.
Then, click Folder and select the folder containing the website files you wish to upload. It is important to remember that your website files need to exist in one folder, and it is this folder you upload to Pinata. Your homepage inside your folder will need to be named index.html for IPFS.
When the upload is complete, the IPFS CID (or IPFS hash) will appear under the Pin Manager tab.
Note: Before proceeding, please test the website by inserting the IPFS hash at the end of the following:
https://ipfs.infura.io/ipfs/YOUR IPFS HASH
Click the IPFS hash to copy it to the clipboard.
Go to https://unstoppabledomains.com/domains and click 'Manage' next to the domain you'd like to link your IPFS hash to:
7. Under 'Manage', go to Custom website linking and click 'Link Website':
8. Paste your IPFS hash that was copied in step 5 and click 'Launch Website':9: Sign the transaction with the wallet that the domain has been claimed to:
This will create a pending transaction, and once the transaction is no longer pending, you can test to ensure this has worked by downloading and enabling the unstoppable extension and then entering your unstoppable domain into the URL bar of your browser.
