How to buy LINK Directly from Your Wallet

Modified on: Mon, 11 Oct, 2021 at 2:10 PM

In this guide, we are going to show you the steps to buy LINK directly from your Metamask and Trust wallets.

Note: Buying cryptocurrencies through your wallet can be considered easier than buying from an Exchange but bear in mind that buying cryptocurrencies from Exchanges can be cheaper since, as shown below, using third-party payment processors like Wyre and MoonPay you are subject to higher fees.

For MetaMask users:

1. Open the Metamask Extension and click on the Buy Button:

2. Click on the Continue to Wyre button:

3. You will need 3.17 LINK to continue with Twitter Verification. Type the amount of LINK in USD terms and select your payment method. In this case, we will be using Card Payments:

4. Enable the Authorization box and click on Next

5. Enter your payment information.

6. After the payment is finished, you will need to wait a couple of minutes for the LINK to be transferred to your Metamask wallet address.

For Trust Wallet users:

1. Open the Trust Wallet app on your smartphone and click on top right icon shown below:

2. Search for LINK, make sure the button on the right is On, and then click on the Chainlink ERC-20 option:

3. Click on the Buy Chainlink button. You will need 3.17 LINK to continue with Twitter Verification. Type the amount of LINK in USD terms and then click on Next (you have the option to choose between MoonPay and Simplex as a payment provider):

4. Enter your email to receive a Verification Code to continue the purchase. You will then need to go through some pages to enter your details. After that is done you will be prompted to select Credit/Debit card payment option:

5. Enter the card details and click on Continue:

6. After the payment is finished, you will need to wait a couple of minutes for the LINK to be transferred to your Metamask wallet address.

Note: Bear in mind that not all banks and cards will be compatible to purchase crypto following this method. Some banks and card issuers don't support the direct purchase of cryptocurrencies, but we hope yours is crypto-friendly and that you will be able to purchase LINK without any issues. Otherwise, you will need to open an account in an exchange or use P2P platforms to purchase LINK.
