How to List Externally Owned Domains on Unstoppable Domains

Modified on: Wed, 8 Apr, 2026 at 2:30 PM

You can now list DNS domains you own at other registrars for sale on the Unstoppable Domains Marketplace. This allows you to generate your own checkout link, bring your own leads, and complete secure sales through Unstoppable Domains at a 3% commission rate even if the domain isn’t registered with us.

To start, head to the List Domains for Sale Without Transferring In landing page here.

How to List via CSV

You can download the example CSV file or see an example on Google Sheets that can be found here

Once you have your CSV setup, navigate to the Bulk Listing page here.

You can upload the file or copy and paste from the CSV. Ensure you include the headers and do not move the columns around.

Once you have confirmed the data looks good, proceed to the next step. If the domains are externally owned, you will need to validate ownership by adding a TXT record:

You will need to add the following TXT record to the applicable domains via whichever platform you manage your DNS records at:

Once the TXT record is verified, you will see External next to the domain on your My Domains page.

You can check the box next to your domain and select Edit Listings under Actions to adjust your BIN price, minimum offer price, or disable offers entirely. You can also enable or disable messaging.

Filtering by Ownership Type

On the My Domains page you can filter by Ownership Type.

Click Filters at the top left and select Ownership Type from the list.

You can then select All, UD Registrar, or Other Registrars.

Domain Activation and Checkout Link

After verification and processing, your domain will be activated and appear on the Unstoppable Marketplace.

  • Each listing will automatically generate a For Sale page (lander) hosted by Unstoppable Domains.
  • You can share this link directly with potential buyers as your checkout link.
  • Buyers can complete the purchase through Unstoppable Domains’ secure checkout process, and you’ll receive payment minus our 3% commission.

This makes it easy to sell externally owned domains while keeping the transaction secure and streamlined.

Notes:

    •    External listings do not require the domain to be transferred to Unstoppable Domains.

    •    You can update or remove listings at any time through your My Domains dashboard.

    •    Domains must remain verified (TXT record intact) to stay active on the Marketplace.

Once a Domain has been sold, the seller will be prompted to transfer the Domain into our platform.

This guide covers the process of transferring the Domain into our platform. Most registrars have a 60-day hold, meaning you can not transfer a Domain to a new Registrar within 60 days of registration or transfer-in.

Once the Domain has been transferred into our platform, we will automatically push the Domain to the new owner's account. Upon transfer-in, the deal is closed automatically, and the sales balance payout is issued to the seller (minus the 3% Marketplace fee), while the buyer will receive the Domain. No further manual actions will be required from either party. The new owner will need to reverify the ICANN contact information associated with the Domain.
