Searching your workspace

Modified on: Tue, 21 Jul, 2026 at 3:36 PM

Everything in a Cowork project is saved and searchable — your chats, your notes, the documents the assistant creates, and the files you upload. This article covers searching across your workspace so you can find past work instead of scrolling for it.

What you can search

A project keeps all of its work in one place, and search reaches across it:

  • Chats — past conversations with the assistant, including archived ones.
  • Notes — your own saved notes.
  • Artifacts — documents and other outputs the assistant created.
  • Attachments — files you uploaded.

Search from within a project

Open the Search panel in a chat to look across the project. Because everything is saved to the project rather than scattered across separate threads, a search finds it wherever it lives — you don't have to remember which chat something came from.

Why it matters

This is the payoff of keeping work in projects: nothing is lost when a chat ends. Come back weeks later, search for what you need, and pick up from there.
